Bathroom remodeling in Collin County: Plano, Frisco, McKinney and Allen
Collin County is growing faster than almost anywhere in the country, and a lot of its bathrooms are newer rooms owners want to make their own.

D&T Contractor Services remodels bathrooms across Collin County, including Plano, Frisco, McKinney and Allen, from its Dallas service office. Much of the work here is upgrading newer builder-grade bathrooms: garden tubs turned into walk-in showers, master baths with double vanities, steam showers and heated floors, plus full remodels in Plano's older neighborhoods.
Bathroom work in Collin County
Collin County's bathrooms split roughly by age. Plano's established neighborhoods have the original 1980s and 1990s bathrooms that are due for a full remodel, while Frisco, McKinney, Allen and the newer subdivisions are full of builder-grade master baths with a garden tub nobody uses and a shower that is too small.
That makes the county one of our busiest for master bath work: removing the garden tub, building a proper walk-in shower, upgrading the vanity and adding the details, like heated floors or a steam shower, that make the room worth the investment.

One of the fastest-growing counties in the US
Collin County added 42,966 residents between July 2024 and July 2025, a 3.4% jump that put it second in the country for numeric growth and close to 1.3 million people. Its biggest cities are Plano, Frisco, McKinney and Allen. For bathrooms, that growth means a large stock of newer homes whose original rooms are ready for a first upgrade.
Newer homes, first bathroom upgrades
A lot of Collin County's housing went up in the 1990s and 2000s, and builders of that era favored a corner garden tub, a small fiberglass or tiled shower and a long single vanity. Twenty or thirty years later, the tub is used as storage, the shower pan is near the end of its life and owners want a layout that matches how they actually use the room.
Plano's older neighborhoods, from the 1970s and 1980s, are a step further along: original tile, builder-grade tubs and plumbing that is worth replacing while the walls are open. Across the county, the slab and clay soil are the same as in Dallas, so moving a drain means trenching concrete and we always check the floor before setting large-format tile.

Learn moreHow a Collin County job runs
Most Collin County jobs are scheduled from the Dallas office. Each city, Plano, Frisco, McKinney or Allen, issues its own permits, and many newer neighborhoods have homeowners association rules on exterior work; for an indoor bathroom remodel, permits are usually the only approval needed, and we file them when plumbing or wiring moves.

Yes, along with Allen and the rest of Collin County, including Wylie, Murphy and Prosper. Jobs are scheduled from the Dallas office; call with the address and we will confirm timing on the first call.
Yes, and it is one of the most common jobs we do in the county. The space usually becomes a larger walk-in shower, sometimes with a freestanding tub kept elsewhere in the room, and we reroute the drain under the slab when the layout changes.
Usually not for indoor work, but read your HOA rules for anything that changes the exterior, such as a new window or vent. The city permit still applies whenever plumbing, wiring or walls change, and we handle that.
Yes, both. A steam shower needs a sealed enclosure, a sloped ceiling and space for the generator; a heated floor needs its own circuit and thermostat. We confirm the electrical capacity during the walkthrough.
Call and we will book a walkthrough. We measure the room, look at the plumbing and floor, talk through finishes and then give a written scope, so the price reflects your bathroom rather than a guess.
